Do I have a law case? What kind of laywer should I talk to?

My mother died on Aug 28th she crashed her quad into a pole, I was hung up on by 911 6 times and it took about 30-45 mins for ANYONE to get there when we finally did get to talk to an emergency service. My questions are do i have a law case and what kind of lawyer should i go to? i live in Oceanside CA so if you can recommend someone that would be great too.

Probably not, but if so, it would be a 1983 action (from 42 USC 1983; a civil rights action because you would be suing the government). Find a civil rights lawyer and see if you have a case. My guess is that he’ll say no.

I am sorry for your loss, but the world’s not perfect, and sometimes there is just no justice in it.

unlikely you were hung up on at all – if you were in an area with poor phone service, that may be a factor.

if you were in a remote place, or traffic was a concern, or there were other incidents at the same time, that could affect arrival time.

sorry for your loss, but what are you alleging exactly?

call any personal injury attorney, I am sure there are dozens in the local yellow pages offering a free consultation.

I am truly sorry about your mother. Your suit would be with the city where the accident happened so a local lawyer should be able to help you. All 911 calls are recorded so there would be proof of how many times you called and how long it took them to arrive. An attorney at law is what you want. Also, if you wanted to, contact your local news channels. They are often very helpful and the dispatcher who took the call should explain why it took so long for help to arrive. I hope you find some help.
