What are the differences between a constitutional law and and ordinary law ??

If laws are not constitutional, what are they then ? Just laws ?

Law is drafted by legislatures (state or federal).. It is also judicially determined when written Law is applied to different fact patterns. No matter where is comes from, it is presumed to be constitutional, that is satisfies the basic rules for our society set out in the US Constitution.

When you receive a decision from a trial court, it is possible to appeal the decision or the law that the decision is based upon with a constitutional challenge. That challenge can occur in an appeals court, a state Supreme Court or the US Supreme Court. The constitutional review will look at the law, the facts that were applied to the law and see if the Constitution was violated in any way.

They are not within the bounds of the Constitution and are said to be unconstitutional—-but to be so declared they must wind their way thru our court system.
