Fox News Murderabilia Stories Mislead Viewers?

100+ MORE examples of Fox News Bias at http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=A3BD2524FE99BD4D

Even though Fox News ran several stories about the “‘Stop the Sale of Murderabilia to Protect the Dignity of Crime Victims Act of 2010” last Friday, none of the stories accurately informed viewers about either the scope of this proposed “murderabilia” law or the source of its likely potential legal challenges as I show in this video.

The Fox News clips I use in this video come from segments on the supposed straight news programs “America’s Newsroom,” “America Live” and “Special Report,” all broadcast on June 18, 2010, with the 3 segments from which I took my clips available at the following 3 links:

http://video.foxnews.com/v/4245088/lawmakers-want-crackdown-on-murderabilia

The image I show of the text of the “‘Stop the Sale of Murderabilia to Protect the Dignity of Crime Victims Act of 2010” cosponsored in the US Senate as S.3468 by Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) and Senator Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) is from http://www.opencongress.org/bill/111-s3468/text

And, finally, the image I use of the Supreme Court case overturning NY’s “Son of Sam” law, Simon & Schuster v. Crime Victims Board, 502 U.S. 105 (1991), is from http://docs.justia.com/cases/supreme/502/105.pdf

    Who really even …
    Who really even cares about “murderabilia” anyway? Only small minded individuals like Fox News viewers who get a fire in their pants over loaded stories like this, a people so dumb that they don’t even realize how blatantly hypocritical it is to espouse personal liberties while simultaneously attempting to take them from someone else. those people. It’s a shame that the “party of Lincoln” has allowed itself to become this, a safe haven for racists, zealots and xenophobes.

    @BradLauber How …
    @BradLauber How many conservatives do you see condemning Fox News? You say it’s okay for there to be two biased networks, yet a YouTube user can’t focus on just one? If you think MSNBC is as bad as Fox News then you have been severely mislead. Do I get information from MSNBC or CNN? the no! If I did I might be as dumb as you. All cable news channels are intellectually lazy and dumbed down into oblivion, yet only FNC appears slyly malicious in it’s content.

    Both Fox and MSNBC …
    Both Fox and MSNBC serve their purpose… Fox is doing everything in its journalistic powers to check the power of an expanding government… while, when the Republicans governed poorly MSNBC and pretty much every other Network was there to expose the what the Government had done. It is a good thing to have different news networks with differing biases checking those they disagree with- it keeps all parties sort-of honest. If your gonna call out fox u must then call out MSNBC b/c they r the same

    At least Fox has a …
    At least Fox has a biased towards market economics and free choice for individuals. I agree, it is clear that Fox has an obvious biased towards business, free markets and Republicans. While MSNBC has a clear biased towards Democrats, the Government always being the only solution to another manufactured “crisis” and a clear biased towards collective choice and not towards individual choice. They both suck and no one should watch either… but if you forced me to choose 1 of the 2, I’d watch Fox

    Clearly there are …
    Clearly there are dozens of biased networks one way or the other. It appears that you only mistrust news and information from Fox news. Why not “equally distribute” your journalistic skepticism to all networks? Perhaps you have a bit of a biased yourself… Certainly I would not suggest that Fox is, in any way, objective news to be trusted but MSNBC is perhaps worse in its transparent attempts to advance a “collectivist” agenda of central control and central planning -next-

    Fox gives both …
    Fox gives both sides.
    NBC, ABC, NPR, etc no more give both sides than a minister gives a devil worshiper equal time at the alter.

    Liberalism IS a religion.

    Well clearly Fox is …
    Well clearly Fox is biased and quite willing to omit important facts in their “news” coverage. Main problem is much of American news is biased and more factually “news-o-tainment” spending countless hours on some celebrity drunk driving and nothing on.. oh I don’t know… the current wars!

    In fact watching stuff on BBC world news reports way more actual news like Israel / Palestine problems and they actually show Israeli troops throwing Palestinians out of their homes. You do not see that here

    Fox is slanting the …
    Fox is slanting the news towards the right no doubt about it. I dont think it is a bad law, it stops curbs down on copycat criminals. Convicted criminals have a constitutional right to their natural rights. They still have their first amendment and may use it as often much as they wish. In an open society like the U.S what if the criminal wishes to voice his opinion on his sentence, it is his right to do so.

    @andrewm153351 …
    @andrewm153351 Palin’s daughter having a child IS news because Palin herself is so against premarital sex, yet her own family isn’t following her moral guidelines.

    Yes, obama didn’t …
    Yes, obama didn’t say that he’s “been in 57 states” of the u.s.
    And biden’s “blunders weren’t NEARLY as reported as palins.
    For instance, palin’s daughter having a baby was HUGE news during the elections. What does that have to do with palin?
    You cannot deny the fact that there is an overwhelming liberal bias in the media.
    The same thing happened when bush was president. The media BRAINWASHES you.
    By the way, im not conservative, liberal, democrat OR republican and i didn’t vote for anyone

    @andrewm153351 …
    @andrewm153351 Obama didn’t say anything stupid. Biden had a couple of gaffes, which were reported, but nothing on the order of Pailn.

    The reason why her daughter’s pregnancy mattered was that Palin believes in abstinence-only sex ed and it obviously didn’t work too well for her own family. Also, she had announced that they were choosing to keep the baby, yet she believes in taking that choice away from other women.

    so, since you seem …
    so, since you seem to enjoy bashing fox news, which i also beleive as a republican has a fair amount of crap, i just wanna ask you a question. just exactly HOW many jobs did obama “save”(HOW THE DO YOU KNOW IF YOU SAVED A JOB) in so called district 17 or whatever it was, which i live in south carolina and know that he called out a completely phony school district saying that he saved jobs there.

    @andrewm153351 …
    @andrewm153351 Believe what you want, Fox news has brainwashed you into thinking centrism is liberal bias. While MSNBC has several liberal hosts, Fox’s employ’s nothing but conservative hosts. People like Combs have been fired to remove any hint of even weak liberals from the channel. Replaced with people STRAIGHT out of the republican party, like Huckabee, Palin, and Napolitano. Fox markets it’s brand of Conservative bias as fair and balanced, making centrism look far left by comparison.

    @fedos

    bullshit. …
    @fedos

    bullshit. Joe biden and obama said some stupid during the elections that hardly got covered by the media at all.
    And why does sarah palin’s daughter having a child give the media a right to have a feeding frenzy on her?

    @candidskeptic How …
    @candidskeptic How does the bill have any influence the ability of victims’ families to stop third parties from selling murderabilia? Since it doesn’t, the statement is misleading.

    Well you know, the …
    Well you know, the people who actually LIKE Fox News don;t like to make “informed” decisions; they want like-minded people to do the thinking for them. They want to stay in their comfort bubble & blame all their worries on scapegoats & believe that all problems are caused by a single source.

    You act like only …
    You act like only fox news is biased. I seem to remember all of the media except fox news praising obama and making sarah palin look like a clown during the elections.
    Msnbc and cnn are just as biased as fox news, its just that fox news gets more heat for it because the media is controlled by liberals.
