Worlds fastest street legal ELECTRIC CAR 1972 Datsun 1200 Whtie Zombie.

Only about 15% of the energy from the fuel you put in your tank gets used to move your car down the road or run useful accessories, such as air conditioning. The rest of the energy is lost to engine and driveline inefficiencies and idling. Therefore, the potential to improve fuel efficiency with advanced technologies is enormous. With an Electric Car it costs just $1.00 per 100kms with MUCH more performance than with petrol at $20.00 per 100kms.

This car is based in Oregon… there are something like 18 hydro electric power plants in that state!

Datsun 1200 EV Specs:

    why do people think …
    why do people think pluging in electric cars will overload the grid we plug in 1000s of wats of lights on Xmas every year and no problems, I just don’t understand these people. and battery chargers only pull from 1to5 or maybe 10 or15amps on a quick charge. witch is very low

    burgeoning technologies could provide energy from sources as plentiful as trash, wind, and sunlight. anyone who tells you that a conversion from petroleum resource to renewable resource is either an idiot or has a vested interest in the strangulation of new technology. scorning technological evolution is a notion best left in the dark ages

    Awesome, but it …
    Awesome, but it fails to point out how many runs it can make before expending the charge. I would assume its a 2-4 run car before needing a recharge. Imagine dropping 700 lbs and gaining 100 horse in a gas powered car over night? electric is def the future as batteries get better every year.

    Yes Electric cars …
    Yes Electric cars Accelerate faster because the Torque is delivered emidiately and not spoiled by rotating valves and camshafts, which is in the gasoline cars
    But one Flawe, it Can only be as reliable as the Battery it carries although an alternator would be a good idea

    BTW Nice Video!

    @AmpegV4 Read the …
    @AmpegV4 Read the description!

    ONLY 50% of US power is Coal fired. Where this car is based is mostly Hydro electric. The grid can handle over 100 Million EVs on over night charge RIGHT NOW.
    The bottom line is ALL gasoline power cars are only 15% energy efficient, EVs are over 90% so you’re using around 1/10th the energy do travel the same distance.

    If everybody on the …
    If everybody on the planet starts plugging in thier cars, are we going to be in an electrical energy crisis ?? What I don’t understand is that the electricity still has to come from somewhere, so instead of burning gas at the racetrack, we are going to surn coal someplace else to make electricity for this electric car.

    @tnmcg69 The idea …
    @tnmcg69 The idea is to prove EVs aren’t all as slow as golf carts and he’s only using 500wh per run, about $0.05 worth of electricity.

    Isn’t it kinda …
    Isn’t it kinda redundant to talk about being environmentally aware and such, then go out and drag race and keep refueling for 12 minutes after each .25 miles. I mean it seems as if the real problem here is using cars and hybrids and pure electric cars for recreation, that’s the real reason for environmental problems.
